The recruiting window has put 3d New England's Class of 2028 squarely in the national conversation. Fifteen members of the program have announced Division I commitments, a group that spans the ACC, Ivy League, Patriot League, Big East, CAA, America East and Western programs. The headline is Duke-bound attackman Landen O'Neil, but the larger takeaway is the class's balance: elite creators, faceoff talent, defensive length, a top goalie and depth through the midfield.

O'Neil is the standard-bearer. The Tabor Academy lefty is ranked No. 1 in the Class of 2028 by Inside Lacrosse and has committed to Duke. His rise has helped make 3d New England one of the region's most visible proving grounds, but the club's recruiting results are not concentrated in one position or one school. The commitment list includes five Ivy/ACC destinations and a broad mix of academic and geographic fits.

Why this group stands out

The group has marquee names at the top, starting with O'Neil, but it is equally notable for its positional coverage. Grosso gives Johns Hopkins a high-end faceoff specialist; Swenson, Hayden and Callaghan make up a long-pole pipeline; Ward brings a nationally recognized goalkeeper profile; and Young, Kosinski, Crawford, Fuller and Batchelor give the midfield group multiple styles of two-way value. The three Fairfield commitments also illustrate how quickly a program can build a regional connection when it identifies a club class early.

That breadth matters in a recruiting cycle. A deep club team gives college staffs repeated chances to evaluate players in different roles and game states, while the players benefit from competing with teammates who are also headed to high-level programs. 3d New England's 2028 class has made that daily standard visible.

Rising players still to watch

The commitment run does not exhaust the class. Several 3d New England 2028 players remain priority evaluations for college staffs. Prep Lacrosse recently highlighted the following uncommitted prospects as players to follow:

Colin O'Leary (D LSM) - 6 foot 3 defender with range and upside

Max Simonson (A M) - 6 foot 3 left-handed offensive option

Parker Boyce (A M) - Dynamic offensive player who can work from multiple spots

Hank Greene (SSDM M) - High-motor two-way midfielder

Liam Brodeur (D LSM) - 6 foot 4 physical pole with a football background

Brady Yoo (SSDM) - Strong two-way defensive midfield profile

The next phase will be about fit, not simply attention. With so many elite commitments already on the board, the uncommitted players have a clear platform to show their value through school seasons, club events and the coming summer circuit. For 3d New England, the 2028 group has already become a strong statement about the depth of the region's talent pipeline.
